STUDENT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

CIRA stands for the Canadian Intramural and Recreation Association. CIRA has many materials which can help develop Student Leadership and improve the intramural program in your school. They provide resources for students and teachers to use in planning and implementing successful and creative intramural programs.

The nationwide Student Leadership Development Program, which is aimed at teachers and students alike, is specifically designed to:

  • help students learn how to plan, organize and operate their own intramural and recreation programs with increasing autonomy and pride;
  • empower students to have a positive impact on the climate of the school;
  • give students the knowledge and know-how which will enable them to develop organizational and interpersonal skills.

The framework for the Student Leadership Development Program is a flexible system of resource tools.
