DEALING
WITH THE
COST OF
RESOURCES
-
Most of this type of material is inexpensive, however, there are some items
that an individual school may not be able to purchase. Here are some ways to
get the material even if your student council can't afford it.
- Ask your principal for funds available for professional development
material.
- Ask your superintendent or board official for special funding. Stress
that these materials are easily shared with other schools and can be used both
in and out of class.
- Involve other schools in a shared purchase and use scheme. Don't worry
about conflict of use as this is a minor problem once you have the benefit of
the material.
- Check out funds that other departments in your school may have.
Counselling, Phys. Ed., and Sociology courses may find real use for some of
this material.
- Ask a Service Club to cover the cost of material. They are very
supportive of any endeavour to promote student leadership.
